Money Can't Buy Love

A very veteran TV anchor in her early fifties (no awards for guessing who) knows this all too well after being dumped by a 22-year-old man.

According to a reliable source, even after lavishing him with all that money could buy, the young man went ahead and left the news anchor for another sugar mummy who is said to be swimming in wealth.

“They are no longer together but the lady is still stuck on him and insists that the guy call her if he has any problems,” said the source.

Akon's DJ frustrated in U.G

Senegalese-American R&B singer-songwriter Akon’s official DJ at Konvict Benny Demus aka Benny D left Uganda a frustrated man.

The former member of US-based Caribbean-R&B group 2EK (now Rock City) was guest entertainer and deejay during the Blu3 ”Be Free” concert and had a difficult time on stage as the sound failed him several times.
“I’m working in improper working conditions. This is not right for my Ugandan fans,” he kept saying in between bursts of spinning fury.

Benny D arrived in Uganda last Wednesday to perform at the concert after a successful performance at the MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMAs) in Nairobi.

But the Uganda concert fell behind schedule because of failing equipment. The show was supposed to begin at 7 p.m. but it was 9 p.m. before the emcees got on stage. By 8 p.m, the lighting and stage were still being set up and the various sponsors like MTN and Pilsner were still sorting out their serving stalls.
All the same, DJ Benny D was a good crowd tickler, as he did his spin master frolics, adding life to the crowd until he was let down again by the backstage crew who could not fix the laptop he was using after it had jammed. The mishap slowed the tempo of the show.

The event’s sound equipment was provided by Silk Events. Fans left the show dissappointed which probably explains why security, comprised of hired guards and police had a difficult time controlling the crowd.

Wycleff in-Toxic-ated?

During this year’s MAMAwards, Toxic and her dancers had been contracted to do choreography for Wyclef as he prepared to perform Hips Don’t Lie. And it seems that Toxic knew how to win over the star by mesmerising him with booty shaking moves. As they danced, the Preacher’s Son could not stop ogling at Toxic, and even asked the crowd to clap for her.

Later in the evening, Clef and his entourage hooked up with Toxic and her girls when leaving the after party at Blue Times, and were seen getting cosy in the car before driving off to an undisclosed destination. Call it Chips Funga! All the groupies and female artists who had wished for quality time with the Grammy Award winner failed. Only Toxic hacked it. HIPS DON’T LIE!

Mega Dee left solo!!

We are not quite sure what is happening at Mega Dee’s Afande Records but all reports indicate that the self-styled General is not a happy man. After the failed launch of his Akabadi album at Hotel Africana, we heard that one of his most notable record label sign-ups, Red Banton, had jumped ship. And Red Banton is apparently not the only artiste who jumped ship. We have heard that another musician Mega Dee had high hopes in has also left Afande Records. Mega Dee had been telling all and sundry that one Marion Tumusiime would be the next big female singer. But Marion was snapped up by songwriter Sylver Kyagulanyi’s new outfit, Sikia Big Sound. Sylver is reportedly crafting a series of songs specifically to launch her in a big way. Meanwhile, she already has a collabo out with Mikie Wine titled Mwali Baana, a love ballad that celebrates the growth of childhood love.
