Homeboyz' VAT East Africa’s biggest entertainment company, Homeboyz , has made yet another power move that is set to change the Kenyan entertainment scene.
The entertainment power house has launched Value Added Talent (VAT), a professional company that will take the mantle in bringing talent buyers and artists together and negotiating contracts that are in the best interests of both parties. Some of the talents already onboard are Kenyan Rugby Sevens coach Benjamin Ayimba and the country’s biggest music acts including Redsan, Nameless, Juliani, Eko Dydda and Wyre to name a few. Whilst VAT is set to fully manage some talent, it will also act as booking agent for other professional artistes, athletes, models, film directors, writers and authors among others.

Collo lands Nigeria invite Kleptomaniacs’ front man Collo leaves for Nigeria on Monday. He is invited- alongside the former house-mates –for charity event dubbed Nalja Pikin to be held on Wednesday, next week.

In fact, Kevin who struck a rapport with the rapper when Collo performed and hanged out in the Big Brother house in South Africa is said to be gearing for a collabo with the Kenyan rapper. Kibera youth movie to feature in international festival Two budding teenage filmmakers in Kibera are making plans to travel to New York at the end of the month for the Human Rights Watch International Film Festival . The two, David Were and Maureen Atieno , are part of twelve Kibera youth under Voiceless Children organization.
Voiceless Children is an initiative that was set up by photojournalist and humanitarian Felix Masi in 2005 to identify opportunities to empower women and children affected by HIV/AIDS. Masi, who is also the producer of the film, revealed, “The film Hands of Love is an eight minute documentary about sanitation in Kibera. We had initially done the film for Listen Up! And Adobe Youth Voices International Film project early this year.
“We are very excited that it was picked as one of the films that will be showing at this year’s Human Rights Watch International Film Festival in NYC in June.”

Gi-RF Kenrazy Showing off abs on album covers seems to be catching on fast in the music industry; Bow Wow, Omario, Lil Wayne and the latest being former Jomino rapper Kenrazy .
This pint size rapper appears shirtless on the cover of his first mix tape cover ‘the 1st sentence’. Kenrazy (below) defended the move, saying it was a reflection of how he had exposed himself musically in his new mix tape and t was offered as eye candy for the ladies.
His 18track hiphop mix tape is just one of the projects he is releasing including three new singles and his debut album titled Gi-RF KENRAZY . “The title stands for Get It Right from Kenrazy. It will contain 20 songs and its all a surprise to everyone because it’s the ultimate album and you can’t predict what’s in it. Mad and serius stuff, that’s all I can say about the album. I’m working closely with Rapdamu and Pacho to ensure my audience gets also done a track with Grandpa Record and V6,’ he said. View Comments (0)
EAT ME AT RAMOMA That’s the title of a new theatre work featuring 20 Kenyan, British and Danish artistes .The artistes include Kenyan’s Iddi Achieng , Trizah Kabue, Tim Mwaura , Danish photographer Kristian Elias Andersen and English director Sarah Chew .
EAT ME is a collaboration between artistes from the three countries and many disciplines, commissioned by the Images Festival in Denmark
The show, a first of its kind in Kenya, is an interactive, promenade performance, which engages with the audience as active participants, not passive spectators. It fuses theatre with visual art, film, dance music, puppetry and fire sculpture.
It builds on a collaboration between Nairobi theater company Bridge Theatre and UK performance company Critical Mass, a collaboration which has lasted since 2008.
EAT ME premieres tonight at RAMOMA gallery and will show again on Friday at 7.30 pm, before appearing in Copenhagen, Denmark in September, and in the UK in 2011. It will be performed in Kiswahili, English and Danish. View Comments (0)
Chilli Inc. Former Calif Records artiste Pilipili has opened up his own label. The singer’s new label Chili Inc , has already signed up artiste Reina, Kizo B Kangomaz .
Apart from producing, he is also still working to building his musical career. His new song titled ‘’Wajuaje” is due to be released in the next few days with video being directed by Tanzania’s Adam Juma . The former Calif Records member stated that he has no ill feelings against Calif records and he still has love for his old label which he left after his three year contract had expired

Ray C turns to film If there is one thing we have to recognize singer Ray C for it’s her resilience. Just when you think she is down and out, she pulls yet another surprise from her hat of tricks. The singer has decided to try her hand in acting.
The uko wapi singer is starring in a Tanzanian movie titled Beautiful produced by seasoned director Tuesday Kihangala .
The movie, shot in Morogoro , will be released soon.In a recent interview she also revealed that she would be setting up a foundation. The yet to be named foundation will be working to help orphans and the sick who cannot afford medical care. She is also working to release her new album in May .
