That’s the title of a new theatre work featuring 20 Kenyan, British and Danish artistes .The artistes include Kenyan’s Iddi Achieng, Trizah Kabue, Tim Mwaura, Danish photographer Kristian Elias Andersen and English director Sarah Chew.

EAT ME is a collaboration between artistes from the three countries and many disciplines, commissioned by the Images Festival in Denmark

The show, a first of its kind in Kenya, is an interactive, promenade performance, which engages with the audience as active participants, not passive spectators. It fuses theatre with visual art, film, dance music, puppetry and fire sculpture.

It builds on a collaboration between Nairobi theater company Bridge Theatre and UK performance company Critical Mass, a collaboration which has lasted since 2008.

EAT ME premieres tonight at RAMOMA gallery and will show again on Friday at 7.30 pm, before appearing in Copenhagen, Denmark in September, and in the UK in 2011. It will be performed in Kiswahili, English and Danish.
