Achieng Abura distances from Hellon

Afro-fusion queen Achieng Abura yesterday denied being involved in what she termed as “the cult saga” that her fellow reality show and co-judge personality Joseph Hellon (real name Nimrod Odhiambo Omondi) alongside ex-TV news anchor Esther Arunga and musician Quincy Timberlake are deeply involved in.

In Achieng’s social network page, she wrote: “Mortified at the questions on my possible involvement in the cult saga. Firmly NO. I had no idea and I’m a staunch Anglican with minimal sideshows. Very private and simple person. Will not judge but pray that God guides them to find the right path. Jah bless.”

“Hellon told me he was a pastor and I assumed he had changed his career down t he line. I knew nothing of the church; one day he only told us the name and we made fun of it for a while,” she stated.

Achieng was invited to one of Hellon’s Starry Jazz events which she wasn’t able to attend because of the  time and distance between her residence and Runda, the venue of the theme nights.

“People are lumping us together but it has nothing to do with us or with TPF. What worries me is that we are not reflecting positively as personalities.”
