Mombasa-based songstress Nyota Ndogo is still pleasantly surprised after she unexpectedly scooped a continental music award on Wednesday last week.

During the awards ceremony held in South Africa, Nyota was named the winner of the Imagine Africa, Song of the Year.

The Kenyan singer was up against other established artistes drawn from all over the continent.

“I was so shocked and lost in joy when my name was called out as the winner. It was a very prestigious ceremony and I am honored to have been recognized,” she told us.
